Kidney Walk Event Day Volunteer in Altantic Canada

Summary

The Kidney Foundation of Canada is a national volunteer organization, dedicated to alleviating the impact of kidney disease. The Kidney Foundation is able to achieve this mission through funding and innovative research; offering education and support; advocating for accessible, high-quality healthcare; and raising public awareness about kidney health and organ donation.

The walks take place in various communities throughout Atlantic Canada over the month of September. Great opportunity for high school students to get community service hours or for families looking to volunteer together! 

Description of volunteer work: 

  • Responsible for registering walk participants
  • Set-up/take-down of the event
  • Route marshalling at local parks on various dates throughout Fall of 2023
  • Must be at least 13 years of age to volunteer
  • Suitable for: Groups of volunteers; Family; Students/Classes or individuals

Skills:

  • Collaborate effectively with team members
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Takes initiative
  • Ability to motivate and inspire people
  • Event planning and/or fundraising experience is highly regarded
